One in five American women has chosen Planned Parenthood for health care at least once in her life. Their health centers provide a wide range of safe, reliable care with the majority being preventive care. Helping to educate and prevent unintended pregnancies through contraception, reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections through testing and treatment, and screen for cervical and other cancers. Caring physicians, nurse practitioners, and other staff take time to talk with clients, encouraging them to ask questions in an environment that millions have grown to trust. In our current political climate Planned Parenthood runs the risk of being defunded. Potentially taking away trusted health care to millions. Since 1999, PPH has provided me with affordable healthcare and birth control options. I now choose to have my yearly exams at PPH due to the exceptional care I have received throughout the years. The reason I return is the affordability, unbiased, professional and personal care. I return because when I’m discussing my most intimate health concerns, I need someone that is honest, supportive and in my corner. That is the consistent care I continue to receive, and why I stand with Planned Parenthood.

When I was 17 years old I moved to New York City on my own. I really didn't know anything about taking care of myself as an adult woman and a friend of mine in college told me about Planned Parenthood. I ended up going there for all of my feminine needs and questions about responsible healthcare. When my best friend and I got STD tested and we found out that he was HIV-positive. We were devastated but they informed us much more about the disease, that it was not a death sentence and how he could get proper care. They took the time to point us in the right direction for all of the help and understanding we needed. Planned Parenthood provided us the space to take care of ourselves as young adults, male and female, in the big city and provided us with a multitude of information about how to stay safe and healthy. It is the place that I took control over my femininity, my sexual health and my womanhood. I stand with Planned Parenthood.

I stand for Planned Parenthood because when I was pregnant with my first child, my water broke at 20 weeks and my baby would not survive. I chose to go to Planned Parenthood to get the surgery I needed instead of having to wait till I went into labor, go through labor and then give birth to a baby that would never survive outside of the womb. I was glad to be able to CHOOSE how I wanted to handle the WORST day of my life. They took excellent care of me and dealt with my tragedy in a timely manner so that I would be able to go on and have children. Now I have 2 amazing kids and I couldn't feel luckier. My choice, my body and my family is why I stand with Planned Parenthood!

"I AM A SOUL SURVIVOR FROM DAY ONE." At 43 years old, I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, breast cancer. I detected a lump in my right armpit. My insurance had lapsed and I couldn't wait for my insurance to become activated for 30+ days. I had been using Planned Parenthood since I was sixteen years old and knew I could get affordable services. I was able to get a same day appointment with Planned Parenthood. The nurse practitioner that found my breast cancer saved my life. She detected the lump in my right breast. With compassion, empathy and understanding she quickly got me a referred appointment with one of their affiliate facilities to get a mammogram and ultrasound. Less than a week later I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Please help save our cancer screenings.  I stand with Planned Parenthood.
